Things you need:
What to Do:
- 125g butter
- 125g fine sugar
- 1package vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs separated .... save the whites
- 3 tbs. milk or water
- 200g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large apples peeled and cored and cut into very small cubes
- a few drops of almond extract
What to Do:
- pre-heat oven to 180C
- warm up the butter in a sauce pan and stir until it starts to melt (get weak)
- add the sugars, milk (water), and stir together until melted and a soft substance. Do not warm further!
- put into a blender and slowly add flour and blend until a creamy paste
- scramble and add the yolks to the flour mixture
- add a few drops of almond extract .... blend until smooth
- remove the dough from the blender into a mixing bowl
- add the apple cubes and mix well with a large wooden spoon
- beat egg whites until firm, then stir gently into the apple dough
- butter and flour a cake pan so the dough will not stick while baking
- put dough into cake pan and spread out evenly, careful not to overfill
- bake for 40 min.or so
- cool and cut (makes one round cake +/- 30 cm in diameter)
